For my exquisite corpse soundscape, I plan on having a story about a space station or something to do with space. When I was recording my sounds, I found a really cool “sound stick” that makes a really unique noise and I think that I could do something with that because it sounds like a space ship. On top of that, using the many effects inside of Adobe Audition, I think that I could create a really unique story and use some unique sounds. The sound stick sounds like an alien trying to communicate and I can pitch it up and down to mimic the differences in voices between two aliens having a conversation. I can also change the speed to mimic the natural pace and speed of a conversation and attempt to convey feelings such as urgency or calmness. I can also change the volume to make it sound like they’re screaming or whispering. For example, I can make them argue about the course of their ship and while they are arguing maybe the ship crashes and they float through space together. Or maybe they crash land on a new planet and I can use various sounds to show a change in setting. Upon checking the shared folder, there are plenty of sounds I can use to convey this message, and there are some other ideas that I had from listening to other peoples sound recordings. For one, I heard someone recording a microwave beeping and to me it sounded like a heart monitor in a hospital, so I think I could also do something about a sad story where someone dies and flatlines to end it, but I think the alien one is what I will do for now.
