Trevor Horn

My name is Trevor Horn and I am an honors student in the Leeds School of Business at CU Boulder. I am currently a junior with an area of emphasis in accounting. As far as my art background goes, I don’t really have much experience outside of playing with Legos in my youth. I have taken a couple of art classes in high school, but I have not really done much with art outside of an art class. I can see the appeal of creating art when I do create it, I just don’t create it much. My limited art history includes pottery, sculpture, painting, and drawing, and I look forward to adding some digital art into my repertoire. I think that digital art is not only interesting to look at and make, but it is a valuable skill to have in a professional setting.

I enjoy looking at all types of art and learning about the history of it and the different movements. I didn’t know it at the time but going to museums and exhibits with my family as a child has helped me to appreciate art starting at a young age. Recently I took an art history class in which I learned about how a specific time period and certain cultural forces can influence art. This art history class that I took made my appreciation for art grow even larger than it was previously. I enjoy many different styles of art ranging from surrealism to modern and I enjoy many different types of art ranging from paintings to music and movies. Often my affinity to an art piece is surface level and I enjoy the piece based on how it looks alone. By being in this class I hope to learn more about art in general and grow my appreciation for it.
