For my soundscape project, I decided to tell a story about a cowboy in the wild west. This idea differed from my original idea because when I was listening to the sounds within the shared folder, someone had uploaded a sound of them typing on a keyboard. When I edited the sound it sounded like a horse running and I knew that I wanted to make a story involving this unique sound. There was also the sound of a guitar in the shared folder which would be a perfect fit to include the two in the same story. The story is about a cowboy who stole a horse and when he eventually returns the horse he gets shot and dies. The story documents his journey with this horse over the course of several days where they stop to rest on their journey. The first time they stop is to start a campfire and eat a snack before continuing their journey in the morning. The second time they stop, the cowboy reloads his revolver to prepare for his future encounter. In the end of the story, the cowboy returns the horse to a saloon and upon his arrival the saloon goes quiet. When he begins walking over to the bar of the saloon he is shot in the back and tragically dies because the horse was stolen. This idea was different from my brainstorm because it was inspired by different sounds and I think that this idea is ultimately better and I like the story more. I used many sounds from the shared folder and I think that if I were to do anything differently I would play around with the effects more to help with the storytelling.
